The SmallsLive Workshop blog offers transcriptions, analyses, and interviews from the many great musicians that perform at Smalls Jazz Club. The transcriptions cover a diverse range of artists and improvisational approaches. New transcriptions are added regularly and available to download for free. Every transcription includes a short analysis of either a melodic, harmonic, or rhythmic aspect of the solo providing students with clear insights into these great artists.
The transcriptions, analyses, and interviews are by New York based saxophonist Jeff McGregor.
